THE FIRE SERVICE COLLEGESTRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER ?? TUTOR (GM??A??)


The Fire Service College delivers training excellence for the UK Fire & Rescue Service and other emergency responders. We are currently going through a period of change that will see our present structure move to one based around a progressive leadership model The Strategic Development Manager is one of the pivotal roles in that new structure.
The successful applicant will have a detailed understanding of the incident command system and be able to demonstrate its application in the workplace within their current role. They will also share a passion and enthusiasm for self development and have an excellent practitioner record in the response environment.


This is a great development opportunity for any aspiring middle manager, enabling you to become a subject specialist and take a leading role for developing and delivering a number of our command related products. You will be expected, encouraged and supported to gain or further develop your teaching skills whilst at the College.


You should already possess the personal qualities and attributes essential for a middle manager however, your role here at the college will ensure that you significantly enhance your abilities in problem solving, planning and implementing, working with others and communicating effectively.


You will also have the opportunity to develop your personal confidence and resilience, be able to demonstrate openness to change, a commitment to diversity, be able to develop yourself and others and to show a commitment to excellence. Regardless of your stage of development there are few roles that offer the opportunity to develop your skills to the excellent level that you will at the College.


This post is open to be filled by a secondment for two years from a UK Fire & Rescue Service, from those who have served in an operational Station or Group Manager role, or equivalent. Applicants will need to have sought prior agreement and support from their Chief Officer
