STATION MANAGER - THURSO (flexi)

 

If you are a Station Manager looking for a transfer or a Watch Manager searching out an opportunity to progress, HIFRS have a unique position in Thurso which requires an innovative and experienced individual.

 

The successful applicant will work with Retained Fire-fighters Units to provide fire and rescue services and co-ordinate fire safety activities within the communities of this unique and remote part of Scotland. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their strength and ability to plan and implement activities to meet service delivery needs; Additionally, HIFRS require an operational manager who can develop the performance of teams and individuals to achieve objectives and enhance workplace performance.

 

The post-holder will be required to provide a residential base in the relevant areas, with the post being conditioned to a flexible duty system; the salary and conditions of service are in accordance with the Scheme of Conditions of Service, Sixth Edition, as agreed by the National Joint Council for Local Fire & Rescue Services and such other terms or conditions laid down by the Highland and Islands Fire Board from time to time.

 

Each post holder will be eligible to claim allowances paid under the Essential Car User Scheme, or alternatively a car leasing scheme is in operation and may be available.

 

It is a condition of employment that the post holder may be required to undertake any other role appropriate to their grade, at any location within the Fire & Rescue Service area, as required by the Chief Fire Officer and attend any courses that the Chief Fire Officer may require.

 

It is an essential requirement that all applicants can demonstrate possession of a valid ADC at Middle Manager level and a current driving licence in order to discharge official duties.
