Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue ServiceApplications for Transfers - Competent Firefighters, Crew Managers & Watch Managers

We are currently inviting candidates from Wholetime personnel only interested in a transfer into Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

We are looking for Competent Firefighter, Crew Manager and Watch Manager positions to remain in a waiting pool. You should be aware that there are different shift patterns depending on the role such as day duty and shift duty systems etc and you could be posted anywhere within the Berkshire area.

The recruitment process will entail a PQA / Operational based interview, dates of which will be advised to shortlisted candidates.

Individuals who are successful will initially be in a waiting pool and therefore will remain employed at their current brigade until such time a suitable position is available and a formal offer made following a satisfactory medical. RBFRS may limit the time that an individual will remain in the pool.

Please be aware that Berkshire is a high cost for housing and candidates should therefore satisfy themselves that they are able to afford suitable accommodation before making an application.

Eligible personnel wishing to apply should complete the RBFRS application form which is available on our website or by emailing Completed applications should be sent to either or by post to Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, HR Department, 103 Dee Road, Tilehurst, Reading, RG30 4FS.
