Full Time, 37 hrs per week
PM2, 35,430 - 38,961 per annum
Location - Fire Service Headquarters, Winsford, Cheshire

An opportunity has arisen for a Fleet Manager to join the "Fire Service of the Year 2011" to provide cost effective fleet management to the Service to the highest standards of safety and efficiency to deliver the Service??s objectives. This role is crucial to ensuring the Service has a fleet operation which is managed effectively and efficiently within a legal framework.

Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service operate a fleet of 94 'Red Fleet' vehicles, 130 support vehicles with associated equipment assets. The fleet is a combination of LGV, Fire Appliances, light commercial and cars based vehicles. The Service currently maintains the fleet through our internal workshop facilities and is looking to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

The successful candidate must have experience of leading and implementing effective change in a modern fleet/workshops environment with the ability to lead with enthusiasm and energy, inspiring and developing high performance from others and by using innovation to establish new processes and implement change to drive continuous improvement.

The successful candidate must also have 5+ years in a supervisory capacity within the transport industry, an understanding of financial regulations and budgetary processes and a full driving license. You will ideally have a City and Guilds Technician Engineering qualification and hold a NEBOSH / IOSH managing safety certificate.
